FROM THE LEMP ESTATE (ST. LOUIS BREWING FAMILY), IS A 6MM FLOBERT PARLOR GUN. The Lemp family did love guns and their German heritage. German proof marked breech loading rimfire pistol. Invented by Flobert for indoor parlor/gallery shooting in large homes such as the Lemp Mansion. It most likely belonged to William Sr. or Jr. Both dearly loved guns. Bird's head grips are in good shape and still retains some nickel plating. Hammer sets up and falls. Some wear due to use and age. Has a great patina. All components move freely. We tried measuring the gun so these measurements are approximate. We measured 15" for the gun and 9" for the barrel. This is a pre 1899 firearm with no serial number. Parlor pistols came into fashion in the mid-19th century; they typically featured heavy barrels and were chambered in a small caliber. They were used for target shooting in homes with a dedicated parlor or gallery for this purpose. Shipping is available in most states or we can arrange local pickup. We know you will love adding this Lemp antique Flobert gun to your own private collections.
