BSA ~ MARTINI INTERNATIONAL MK V .22LR Precision Single

Here's a classic rifle for the rimfire target shooter! Manufactured in England by Birmingham Small Arms (BSA), this is a Martini International Mark V. The original Martini falling block action dates back to 1870 and BSA began production of the small action Martini rifles over 100 years ago. The Martini-International Mark V was the last of the breed with production beginning in 1976 and ending in 1985. A lever actuated falling block design, the various Martini International rifles were noted for exceptional accuracy. The Mark V features a 28-1/2" heavy tapered barrel that is clamped to the receiver with two hex-head cross bolts. The barrel is factory fitted with the tall front sight block for the Parker-Hale tunnel sight that comes with an assortment of interchangeable apertures. The rear sight is the correct Parker-Hale PH25E fully adjustable sight with variable aperture disc. The trigger group is easily removed simply by unscrewing the knurled knob on the right side of the receiver and dropping it from the bottom of the action. The forend hanger is attached to the bottom of the barrel with three screws and in turn, the two wood forend halves are attached to the hanger with three screws each. The underside of the hanger is dovetailed for the included hand stop/swivel. The buttstock features a full pistol grip, roll-over cheek piece, and adjustable BSA buttplate.
This rifle is in excellent overall original condition. The polished blue finish rates about 95% overall with only a few handling marks and small area of finish loss/light pitting to the front/right edge of the trigger guard. The factory scope blocks have been removed and filler screws installed (the front block comes with the rifle, the rear block is missing). The stocks are in good condition with some handling marks and small dings, but no cracks, chips or repairs. The serial numbered parts are matching and there are NO modern import markings. The mechanics are in perfect working order and the rifle has an excellent trigger. The automatic ejector kicks an empty case out with authority and the sights are in perfect working order. The bore is also excellent, and is bright with sharp rifling. The rifle weighs 12-pounds, 4-ounces as pictured. This should make an absolutely wonderful paper-puncher!
