Smith & Wesson 9mm Parabellum Model 39 Steel Frame RARE Serial #62,290. This is the First Commercial 9mm Double-Action auto manufactured in the U.S. with ONLY 927 Steel Frames made in the Mid 1950's; but they were not assembled or Sold until 1966. 4 inch barrel, 8 shot single stack magazine, + 1 in the chamber. Only a Few of these are found with an Alloy Backstrap instead of a Steel Backstrap. This S&W Model 39 Serial #62xxx Does Have the Alloy Backstrap ! The Steel Frame guns fall in Three Ranges. (39,000 range; then 60,000-64,000 range, and then 81,000-82,000 range). This S&W Model 39 Serial #62xxx is in the Second Group Range.
