Here's a rifle that's coveted by collectors of U.S. military firearms. This is an original M1C Garand Sniper rifle that was sold through the CMP auction site in 2001. Adopted in mid-1944, the M1C was the first version sniper rifle based on the semi-automatic M1. Production was somewhat limited and the M1C is now very difficult to locate. It differed from the standard M1 only in that a special bracket was attached to the left side of the receiver which accepted a Griffin & Howe quick release scope mount. This rifle is a fairly typical post-war rebuild and has been arsenal refurbished/refinished.
