This is an antique Model 1873 "Third Model Rifle" that was manufactured back in 1888. It is chambered for the big-bore .44WCF (aka .44-40) and wears the original 24" octagon barrel. Overall condition is very good, certainly above average.
The magazine tube is in generally good shape and is free of dents, but has little finish remaining.
This rifle functions properly with no issues. The bore rates about "good" and shows strong rifling with some moderate erosion and light pitting...still quite shootable if desired. Overall, a very decent 135-year-old Winchester '73.
